SAUCER  DISH .    diam:   22 cm.

Finely potted , and decorated in  DOUCAI famille verte enamels ; the central medaillon  is painted within a double circle in underglaze-blue, illustrating 3 stylized phoenix birds encircling a central lotus blossom, amid foliage ;  all this repeated as a freeze around the back-side rim, above a band of C-scrolls around the foot .

period :     QIANLONG  :   1735 - 1790 .

mark  :    6 character seal-mark in underglaze-blue . (see next foto )

Doucai , literally " contending colours ", is a style of polychrome decoration which allies underglaze- cobaltblue in the outlines of the design, with soft- fired overglaze enamels.
